Frequently asked questions

Q: Do you offer sexual services or skin to skin full body massage?

A: No.

Q: Do you offer services through ClassPass?

A: I am very grateful to ClassPass for the exposure it offers, however, this corporation takes a 40% cut from the price of my services each time you book me through their platform. While not all of my services are offered on ClassPass, I love utilizing it as an introduction to the business. Booking directly with my business is always much preferred. Appointments booked via ClassPass include a 15 minute intake process, 60 minutes of hands on massage work, and 15 minutes for the checkout process. If I have the time in my schedule, clients are always welcome to book additional hands-on massage work with me directly. 20% gratuity on the cost of your hands-on massage is industry standard and much appreciated!

Q: It’s my first time getting a massage. How much clothing should I remove?

A: No therapist can legally tell you how much clothing to remove number one, but one operating within legal and ethical bounds would ensure that draping is in place at all times to protect both your modesty and the therapist’s. At Casa de Luz the draping is a very important boundary. You can wear as much or as little clothing as you like and you will never be exposed.

Q: Do you offer couple’s massage?

A: I offer sequential couple’s massage, meaning one after the other; not simultaneous couple’s massage. This is my unpopular opinion, but after nearly a decade in this field I think I’ve earned it. Too often I have seen couple’s enter into a simultaneous massage and hate their experience because they can’t allow their partner to have an individual experience. One partner will be upset that the other falls asleep and is snoring. One partner will be more chatty with their therapist than the other. It doesn’t take much to make it not relaxing. Instead, I’ve devised an option that actually brings couple’s closer together.

The couple’s massage workshops teach you how to massage one another at home. Receive a four-handed massage as I guide your partner through real professional techniques that are the foundation of massage! These workshops are 4 hours in length and you will both have a chance to give and receive a 90 minute massage!

Q: Do you massage minors?

A: Yes, with parental consent and supervision!

Q: Do you offer mobile massage?

A: I offer mobile massage within 15 miles of my office located at 6 Gertrude Pl NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 for a $50 travel fee. Prices for distances further than this are negotiated on a case by case basis.

Q: What can I do at home to prepare for a massage?

A: Hydrate! Drink lots of water leading up to your massage and it wouldn’t hurt to do some gentle stretching a few hours beforehand.

Q: How do I take care of myself after a massage?

A: Again the key here will be hydration. You should be “pissing the night away” preferably from water and not cider or lager drinks. We want to flush out everything we’ve just broken up in the tissue. Taking an epsom salt bath will also help alleviate muscle soreness. Incorporating a regular routine of stretching and foam rolling between appointments will extend the longevity of your results.

Q: Are you located ITP or OTP?

A: La Casa is ITP! 4 miles from downtown. 3 miles from midtown. 2 miles from the Trap Music Museum. 0.5 miles from Westside Reservoir Park. The gentrifiers are calling this area West Midtown or the Upper Westside, but locals will know it best as Bankhead.

Q: Is there parking at your office?

A: Yes! Free street parking is available right in front of the office. Just be sure to not block mailbox or driveway!

Q: Are there any animals located on the property?

A: Yes! There are a handful of indoor/ outdoor cats.

Q: Do you only play spa music?

A: I will play anything you like. I am often asked about the Spotify curated playlists I put on which are usually a chill mix of alternative and indie tracks.

Q: Do you accept gratuity?

A: Casa de Luz was once a flat rate business and then corporate greed exploited all of us during a pandemic and I am once again asking for your help to afford groceries and overhead so yes. Gratuity is never expected, but greatly appreciated!
