All of these benefits contribute to increased immune function (Who couldn’t use that right now?) and lowered blood pressure. For those in need of immediate and chronic pain relief massage can significantly help. With massage the muscles and joints of the body are manually manipulated to produce the desired result. Every massage begins with a brief intake during which the therapist learns more about your medical history and body conditions on the day of your massage. Together you develop a plan to address the areas of concern. There are several massage modalities you can choose from including: Swedish, Connective (Deep) Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Prenatal, Sports, Lomilomi, Thai, Lymphatic Cupping, and Hot Stone.

Yoga literally translates to union and is an ancient Indian spiritual practice that is comprised of far more than the physical exercise we commonly see in the West. There are eight sacred limbs of yoga: Yama (Universal Morality), Niyama (Personal Behavior), Asana (Body Postures), Pranayama (Breath Control), Pratyahara (Withdrawal of Senses), Dharana (Concentration), Dhyana (Meditation & Contemplation), and Samadhi (Union with the Divine). As mentioned above, many Western studios choose to focus solely on the asana practice or the poses and our transitions between them. Here we offer a full exploration of the spiritual practice. You can expect any given class to include elements of Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and if we’re lucky we may even experience a washing over of Samadhi. Of course, it is always up to you as the practitioner how deep you’d like to go. You can take and leave anything.

The word Reiki is built from two Japanese characters, rei, meaning universal spirit, and ki, meaning vital life force or energy. Reiki is a form of therapeutic touch, but with advanced training can also be performed across time and space. This practice is grounded in intention. The practitioner’s intention is to act as a conduit for the universal healing energy to flow through. Receivers set their own intentions, but generally it is to allow their energy to become replenished and unblocked. The delivery of this universal healing energy enhances vitality and promotes the body's innate ability to heal. There are five precepts of Reiki used to cultivate inner peace that deepen one’s ability to transfer and receive the healing energy. Try speaking these affirmations to yourself and see if you notice an energetic shift.

Sound Baths

Sound therapy is another ancient practice used for the purpose of energetic cleansing. It is believed the first culture to use sound therapy were the Aboriginals of Australia nearly 40,000 years ago. Recently, Westerns have adopted sound baths, originating out of Tibet nearly 2000 years ago, as a method of stress reduction and an aid to meditation. Using percussive instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, rain sticks, chimes, ting-ting-shags, gongs etc. the sound therapist is able to attune the listener’s body and mind back into harmony.
